THE STORY BEGINS
In 2020, during the Pandemic, I reached out to award-winning magician Just Alan, a man who, at the time, I didn’t know personally. I asked him if he had a book about his approach to magic.
Why?
A long remembered performance was in my mind. A man sitting on a rug, performing The Sands of India. But it was more than this. There was incense, images, narration, acting…there was magic.
…five years later, countless emails, thousands of words, and a hundred illustrations and counting, Alan and I are collaborating on the definitive (and only!) book dedicated to his life, his magic and how he creates quality, authentic theatrical magic performances.
This book will tip it all: Alan’s commitment to excellence, to quality and to the secret ingredients of his ‘special sauce’ of making exceptional pieces of magic that touch the heart and minds of his audiences.
